Doctors who live in the vascular world
The Vein Clinic at First Coast Cardiovascular Institute is led by board certified endovascular and vascular physicians. FCCI says it is the only vein clinic in Northeast Florida with that kind of team, plus cardiovascular, sleep, wound care and pulmonary specialists under the same roof.
Meet Dr. Yazan Khatib and Dr. Rabih Tabet, and the vascular lab team led by Dr. Jason Roberts, RVT.

Is it time to see a vein doctor?
Legs that ache when you stand and feel better when you prop them up. Swelling by evening. Itching, brown or red skin near the ankles. Bulging veins. Any of these that keep coming back are worth a check.
- Heavy, tired legs
- Swelling with no clear reason
- Skin changes or slow-healing sores
- Spider or varicose veins that bother you
Sudden swelling with chest pain or shortness of breath? Call 911.

A 20-minute look under the skin
FCCI's free vein screening is an ultrasound of the leg that takes about 20 minutes. It checks how your veins work and looks for blockages that could lead to chronic venous insufficiency. Registered vascular technologists do the scan in FCCI's IAC-accredited vascular lab, and a doctor follows up with your plan.

Treatments under one roof
Surface veins: endovascular laser, phlebectomy and sclerotherapy. Deep veins: intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), venography, venoplasty and stents. FCCI does these in an outpatient setting, which it says keeps costs low and visits convenient.
